Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next titled ‘Gangubai’

After the Salman Khan starrer Inshallah didn’t see the light of day, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has started a new project, tentatively titled Gangubai. The film will star Alia Bhatt in the leading role. Previously, Priyanka Chopra was to play the role but it was difficult for her to commit to this project and thus the Kalank actress has filled in her shoes.    

 

Gangubai is slated to be based on the brothel owner of Kamathipura. Also, the film is said to be based on a chapter written by S Husain Zaidialt, titled Mafia Queens of Mumbai. More details on the film are still awaited. Watch this space for more.
