Saregamapa Star Mainul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested. It is being reported that Bangladeshi Demra Police Station arrested musician Nobel on Monday night (May 19) in a case of violence against women. Nobel is accused of raping a woman by keeping her in her house for 7 months.

Demra Police Station Acting OC Mahmudur Rahman told Bangladeshi media that Nobel had been holding a woman captive in a house for the past seven months, raping and torturing her. Police rescued the woman from Nobel's house on Monday night after receiving a call on Bangladesh's national emergency service number '999'. The woman filed a case against the singer that same day. Nobel was also arrested later.

Bangladeshi police told the country's media that Nobel called an Eden College student to meet him in Gulshan last November. He lured her into marriage. Later, Nobel allegedly held her captive in a house in Demra for seven months and tortured and raped her. The singer recorded these incidents on his mobile phone. He allegedly used the video to 'blackmail' the student.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh police said that Nobel had planned to flee the country after the incident. However, he was arrested before that. A case has been filed against him under multiple sections including the Women's Torture, Rape, and Pornography Act.

Meanwhile, Mainul Ahsan Nobel was released from the drug rehabilitation center eight months ago. At that time, he also expressed regret for several of his actions.
