Taapsee Pannu shows the power of Women in Blue in ‘Shabaash Mithu’ teaser

Bollywood powerhouse Taapsee Pannu is back to impress her fans once again in a unique role. This time she will play the role of cricketer Mithali Raj in her upcoming biopic Shabaash Mithu. The makers have unveiled its official teaser, and we see how the ‘gentleman’s game’ is played by women with ease. The teaser shows cricketer Mithali Raj walking into a stadium, while the crowd cheers on. She is here to create history. 

 

Sharing the teaser on her social media page Taapsee wrote, “In this Gentlemen's sport, she did not bother to rewrite history... Instead she created HER STORY. #AbKhelBadlega, #BreakTheBias #shabaashmithu.” The Looop Lapeta actress had announced the film in December 2019 on Mithali’s birthday. Sharing pictures of herself with the cricketer cutting her birthday cake she wrote, “Happy Birthday Captain. On this Birthday, I don't know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with Shabaash Mithu. PS_ I'm all prepared to learn the 'cover drive.” 

 

Shabaash Mithu is directed by Rahul Dholakia and is produced by Viacom18 Studios. Apart from this film, Taapsee also has Atlee’s next with Shahrukh Khan and her maiden production Blurr.
