Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has always had strong female characters that shun stereotypes. His upcoming film Babli Bouncer will do the same. It will tell the fictional story of a female venturing into male territory of being a bouncer. The lead and titular role will be essayed by actress Tamannaah Bhatia. This will be the very first collaboration between the two. 

Madhur will be taking Babli Bouncer on floors today in Mohali. Talking about the film he said, “As a filmmaker, there is a lot to look forward to, when you get the chance to explore a never-before-told narrative. I want to tell this story of a female bouncer through a slice-of-life comedic tone that also leaves a lasting impact.” The film also stars Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid in crucial roles. 

Bhatia who has prepped hard to physically transform into Babli Bouncer said, “As soon as I read the script, I fell in love with the role. It's one of the most exciting characters that I have come across; it has substance. Madhur sir has a flair for crafting defining female protagonists, and Babli too is a powerful part. For the first time, a film will explore the story of a female bouncer. I can't wait to dive into this new world.” 

The film is produced by Junglee Pictures and Fox Star Studios, and will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by end of 2022.
