The Bengal Files after it hit the controversy over no screenings in West Bengal collected only 1 crore on its first day of its release on 5th September 2025.
The Bengal Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri had not screened its trailer in Kolkata during its launch that took place in Kolkata. Amid these controversies over the film, Kolkata theatre owners have not yet accepted to screen the film in their theatres.
Anupam Kher has played the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the film. The day one marked a very moderate start of 1.63 crore in India alone in comparison to The Kashmir Files which had collected 3. 55 Crore on its first day of release in 2022. Now it is the waiting moment to see whether The Bengal Files will pic up the momentum in the next few days.
