The upcoming Hindi film, The Kerala story 2 trailer has sparked a controversy after it was launched.   The film that is based on true events shows the plight of the girls trapped in forced conversion case is being criticized by the political leaders, calling it a propaganda. The Chief Minister of Kerala has issued a statement condemning the film. He slammed the upcoming film stating his concern over the release that it’s an intent to spread hatred against the state and challenge the secular tradition. 


Vijayan questioned the makers why a poisonous work is being produced to spread hatred in the society. He stated why should the film be allowed to be screened while a film like Beef was barred at the film festival said the CM.

The Chief Minister stated that the film is spreading false propaganda by portraying marriages conducted by mutual consent through forced religious conversion. He added that such forces are hostile towards the state which has no communal riots or any traditions following a mutual respect among the communities.   Stating the film as enemy of the state, he said it’s an attempt to destroy the peace and tranquility in the region through portrayals of such films.

He expressed his concern of center of terrorism and that it’s the responsibility of each of us to ensure Kerala has a secular foundation and not weaken its strength by any false propaganda.
