Director of The Tashkent Files, Vivek Agnihotri has been sent a legal notice by Lal Bahadur Shastri’s grandson asking to stop the release of the film. The notice alleges that the film might hurt the sentiments of a certain section of the society and may create unnecessary controvery.
The Junooniyat director said in a statement to a news agency earlier, that they had a screening of The Tashkent Files and the former PM Shahtri’s grandson saw the film and loved it and praised it too. He suddenly has changed his mind and decided to send the legal notice possible from pressure by the Congress party heads.
Vivek has yet to reply to the legal notice and says he will hold a press conference and also show the notice copy and clarify other details. The movie will feature Naseeruddin Shah, Shweta Basu, Mithun Chakraborty, among others in pivotal roles.
