The trailer of Dug Dug with a blend of comedy and a thought-provoking narrative by Ritwik Pareek in his debut directorial film explores on how faith can take unexpected turns and sometimes strange forms. Backed by an impressive lineup of executive producers that include Anurag Kashyap, Nikkhil Advani, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vasan Bala with them all, it is already creating a strong buzz. 


The glimpse of Dug Dug has its satire collide with the belief, mystery and faith with comedy all put in one nutshell. God only knows what games He Plays is so true and the opening line as the trailer sets into an intriguing tone for the viewers.  


The Dug Dug Narrative 


It begins with the death of a villager followed by strange events happening around, the disappearance of his motorbike from the police station and then it reappears where it was exactly spotted at the place the villager died.  Curiosity turns into beliefs and soon transforms into faith and devotion. 


Dug Dug is inspired by real incidents and dives into a peculiar phenomenon. The deceased man’s bike is worshipped as a wish granting belief and villagers begin praying and even offering alcohol convinced that their wishes are being granted and prayers fulfilled! It is about blind faith that soon sparks into a full-fledged commercialised belief system with the strange occurrence, that raises sharp questions in the minds of the people. 


The trailer showcases a Dreamline cinematography by Aditya S. Kumar that is the film’s surreal narrative which is enhanced by the cinematography with the unique mix of humour, mystery and social commentary the story telling stands out in the Indie film space. 


Dug Dug the unconventional cinematic experience is produced by Rocket Pictures and the release is set for May 8th in the theatres. Dug Dug has already made a mark internationally with it being screened at some of the major film festivals like TIFF, The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
