The trailer of Governor has finally been released. The film promises a gripping drama that is deep rooted of the darkest chapters of Indian economy.  Backed by the filmmaker, Vipul Amrutlal Shah and is headlined by National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee.    The film revisits the turbulent economic crisis of 1990 when India stood dangerously close to bankruptcy. 


The makers have revealed the striking first poster of Manoj Bajpayee on his birthday. Governor has generated immense curiosity from the audience after the intriguing teaser was released. The storytelling is clear on what India’s economy went through with the chaos, fear that dived deeper into the political tension caused by the crumbling economy and highlights the extraordinary efforts taken behind the close doors to save the country from the massive disaster.

As the Governor, Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in a never seen before avatar. He becomes the silent force steering India away from the ruining the India’s economy.  His intense presence on the screen along with Adah Sharma’s impactful performance further adds to the emotional depth and the urgency to the storytelling.  


The narrative is going to appeal to the younger generation and the youth with this historical event. Makers hosted a special screening of the trailer followed by an inter active session with the creators and the star cast. 


Chinmay Mandelkar direction, Governor is inspired from true events and aims to bring the unsung hero’s contribution to the spotlight. Presented by Sunshine Pictures, the film has music rendered by Amit Trivedi and lyrics is by Javed Akhtar.  The much-awaited film is all set to hit the theatres on June 12th 2026.
