Internal Affairs

Internal Affairs is a contemporary story based on a one-night stand between two young colleagues Sid and Rhea. These one-night stands lead to unexpected complications at the workplace and at home. The play explores the grey story of personal chemistry which leads to passion and commitment that asks if an affair can ever just be a fleeting memory with no consequences. Directed by Adhaar Khurana, this Zee Theatre teleplay stars Hussain Dalal, Priyanshu Painyuli, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shikha Talsania. Watch it on ZEE5.

Daag - O - Hijab

Zee Theatre's 'Daag - O - Hijab' represents the life of this legend of Urdu poetry and his forbidden love for the mistress Munni Bai against the wishes of Nawab Haidar Ali Khan of Rampur.  Daag - O - Hijab follows a narrative about clashes of loyalties and the intensity and disaster of unanswered passion. Starring actor Shahbaz Khan, as the lead character, the teleplay celebrates Daagh's poetry while revealing some lesser-known aspects of his life. Directed by Satyendra Chauhan, it also stars Payal Goga Kapoor, Sufi Sayyad, Hemant Soni, Satyendra Chauhan, Dipti Rajvanshi and Mithilesh Chaturvedi. Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical

 
Is atheatrical adaptation of K Asif's 1960 epic, which revisits the love story of Prince Salim and the royal mistress Anarkali. Based in the Mughal era, the story is very modern in its exploration of class divides and the clash between duty and passion. This is why this well-travelled musical has been praised wherever in the world it has been staged. Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, the play stars Nissar Khan, Sonal Jha, Priyanka Barve/Neha Sargam, Syed Shahab Ali/Dhanveer Singh, Rajesh Jais, Tareeq Ahmed Khan Palvi Jaswal, Pratibha Singh Baghel and Chirag Garg. Sir Sir Sarla

Sir Sir Sarla is a teleplay that showcases what happens when forbidden love cannot be desired away into ignorance. Makarand Deshpande’s ‘Sir Sir Sarla' tells the story of Professor Palekar and the love that his student Sarla. The professor is unable to keep up with this feeling which leads Sarla towards a loveless marriage. Her marriage became a lifetime of regret and unhappiness for both. Filmed by Suman Mukhopadhyay and directed for stage by Makrand Deshpande, the Zee Theatre teleplay also stars Aahana Kumra with Sanjay Dadhich and Anjum Sharma. Panchi Aise Aate Hain

Panchi Aise Aate Hain is an adaptation of Vijay Tendulkar's famous Marathi play 'Ashi Pakhare Yeti' which tells the story of a typical traditional family. The daughter of this family has only one purpose in life which is to get married.  Into this household, a free-spirited traveller named Arun walks in and he befriends Saru, a young girl pushing against her family's restrictive ideas about gender. This Zee Theatre teleplay is a compelling watch. Directed by Ishan Trivedi, the teleplay stars Ratan Rajput, Amol Parasher, Deepak Qazir, Vibha Chibber, Sandeep Dhabale and Vinnay Vishwaa.
