On May 9, 2025, which was his birthday, Vijay Deverakonda gave the audience the first look at his 14th movie, provisionally named VD14. It is being directed by Rahul Sankrityan, whose Shyam Singha Roy and Taxiwaala were acclaimed. It's their second outing together. It is a period-action drama with a setting between 1854 and 1878, in the area of Rayalaseema, exploring less documented phases of Indian colonial history.

The first look poster, titled "The Legend of the Cursed Land," features a burly Vijay Deverakonda, suggesting a gritty and raw character. Fans have termed the poster 'mental,' owing to the increased expectation.

Directed by Mythri Movie Makers' production VD14, it is planned to be a pan-India venture. Ajay-Atul, a music duo, will provide music for the project, elevating the magnitude of the venture. Although there is speculation regarding Rashmika Mandanna featuring as the lead heroine, the formal word is yet to be confirmed.
