Waves 25 selected top 25 who will pitch to potential investors like producers, sales agents, distributors, festival programmers in an open session at the Jio World Centre on May 2nd 2025.
The world Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (Waves) unveiled its first top selects lined up to feature 15 diverse projects across the 9 languages a little ahead of the summit which is scheduled for May 1st to the 4th May 2025 in Mumbai.
Waves as described as Waves Bazaar will be a premier global market for the media and entertainment Industry. The Waves Bazaar will showcase the selected projects through the viewing room on a dedicated platform whereby industry professionals can view and engage with the new content shared.
WAVES 25 Showcases India's Cinematic Diversity with 100 Films
The curated list includes 9 feature films, 2 documentaries, 2 short films, and 2 web series which will represent the rich cultural diversity of the Indian Cinema in various languages. Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Magahi, Odia and English. Some of the notable selections will be ‘The Wage Collector’ in Tajmil, ‘Putul’ in Hindi, ‘ Swaha in the Name of Fire’ in Magahi and ‘Gotipua- Beyond Borders’ which will be in English, Hindi and Odia.
The WAVES Viewing Room Library will feature 100 films from 8 countries. India being one of them, it will have Sri Lanka, USA, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Germany, Mauritius and UAE. It includes the 18 NFDC-produced and co-produced films, 8 of which will be classics restored from the National Film Archive of India. 19 students will project films from prestigious film institutes, FTII(Pune) and SRFTI(Kolkata).
WAVES 25 aims to position India as the premier destination for content investment in the media and entertainment sector while it will promote the ‘Create India’ for a global platform.
