When Meezaan Was Ranveer Singh’s Body Double

Not many know that Javed Jaffrey’s son Meezan Jaaferi, once worked as a stand-in for the lead actor Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. He was a costume assistant in the historic magnum and tried on the Bajirao Mastani actors’ costumes for fitting. Since Ranveer was not available for two scenes, the director asked the assistant to stand-in for the scenes.

 

Meezaan memorized all Ranveer Singh’s lines and gestures for the two scenes and delivered without anyone making out the difference. Incidentally, the actor will be making his acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production Malaal opposite the producers niece Sharmin Segal.
