In Mumbai, Film producer Anand Pandit joined hands with Eros International in collaboration with Parag Sanghvi for the remake of Vishal Bhardwaj’s much acclaimed crime action drama film ‘Omkara’ and a sequel to the romantic comedy film, ‘Desi Boyz’ by Rohit Dhawan. The two films are totally different. 2006 released Omkara is the Hindu adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy, based on the film ‘Othello’ while Desi Boyz released in 2011is about two friends who lose their jobs and start working as male escorts that leads to humor and comedy of errors.

‘Omkara’ is a pop culture classic remembered for its soundtrack by Bhardwaj and Gulzar and had the stellar performance by Ajay Devgn, Kareen Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma and Vivek Oberoi and Bipasha Basu while ‘Desi Boyz’ was the directorial debut by Rohit Dhawan and the film starred Akshay Kumar,John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh. Anand Pandit feels it's now the right time to present these two films to the new generation. Both these films, Omkara and Desi Boyz were pioneers in their own way in the era with their story, starcast, and music and are still memorable helmed by the respective actors of the films especially their command over the genres. They have had a cult following and it seems a perfect time to present it and take it forward for the new generation viewers. We often wonder what happens to our favorite film characters if their filmy journey takes them to a new direction. This film will be an answer to many such questions. Sunil Lulla, the Chairman of Eros Motion Pictures are thrilled to collaborate with Anand Pandit had have ensured they work together to retain the essence of these classic films that should be untouched, and they would infuse new vibrant energy to present it differently.
