Yash Raj Films and Google have announced a first of its kind AI Filmmaking workshop for the country’s creative community.  Scheduled to start from 4th August at YRF studios, the exclusive session will bring together filmmakers, writers, creative professionals and production teams who will benefit with their expertise further on how to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and enhance the storytelling while it will also preserve the artistic vision. 

The workshop will provide hands-on-training with Google Flow. The company’s AI powered creative studio enables the participants to understand how AI can seamlessly merge into the existing production workflow.    The session will focus on using AI as a collaborator rather than replacing the creativity, it will enhance as a companion for storytelling and ensure the filmmakers firmly and keep their creative process controlled. 

The initiative highlights the growing interest in AI Driven Creativity. 

Speaking about the initiative, Akshaye Widhani the CEO of Yash Raj Films has emphasized that with every generation the filmmakers have encountered a transformation with the technology and one must decide how to stay afloat and serve it to their story. He noted that the workshop aims to equip the creators with more knowledge and use their judgement to use AI sensibly, keeping the actors, their emotions, the story telling and the camera without losing their essence in the heart of cinema. 

Dr. Arathi Sethumadhavan the Director of User Experience Research Technology & Society at Google highlighted the need for AI Driven tool for India’s growing interest in the AI driven creativity. She said the company is witnessing a remarkable momentum for Google Flow in the country. Dr. Arathi expressed her excitement about the collaboration between India’s legendary storytellers and seeing how they push the boundaries of artistic expressions using the AI creativity driven tools going forward. 

Beyond the technical training the event will also foster meaningful dialogues between India’s film industry and Google’s AI Engineering and Product teams. The participants will have a new networking opportunity and have an access to optional advanced session that are specifically designed for professionals working on an integrate flow into their active projects.  This collaboration being first of its kind marks a major engagement where Google’s Flow team will work directly with the leading international film studio and signal a significant step forward shaping its future along with the AI assisted film making while it continues to celebrate the human creativity at its core.
