YRF Entertainment has given us action, comedy, romance and drama over the years. The production giant is now going to get into the space of real life events. It is also making its OTT debut with its first web series titled ‘The Railway Men’. The series is based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy that killed over 15,000 people and affected more than 600,000 workers in its vicinity. The tragedy took place on 2nd December 1984 and paying tribute to the heroes who lost their lives, YRF has officially kick started the shoot yesterday. They unveiled its first look poster that looks intriguing. 

 

The Railway Men has an exciting star cast that includes Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma, R Madhavan and debutant Babil Khan (son of late actor Irrfan Khan). The series is directed by Shiv Rawail. Speaking on the series senior VP at Yash Raj Films, Akshaye Widhani said, “The Bhopal Gas Tragedy is the world’s worst industrial disaster that has impacted scores of people since the tragedy struck the city 37 years ago. At YRF, we are constantly trying to develop the best compelling stories for audience and this is our tribute to the unsung heroes of the tragedy who, despite saving thousands of lives on that fateful day, are still unknown to people across the world.” Meanwhile, Yash Raj has also confirmed 4 more projects in the digital space to begin filming in the coming months.
