Yo Yo Honey Singh And Karan Aujla Face Legal Trouble Over Song Lyrics

Singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and Karan Aujla have landed into legal trouble for the lyrics used in their songs.


The Punjab State Women’s Commission has found the lyrics to be derogatory and promoting the objectification of women.


Women’s Commission Orders Action


Punjab State Women’s Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill, in an interview with ANI, shared that many complaints were received and the panel reviewed many of them. The lyrics were found to be harmful for societal values and of an offensive nature toward women. The panel has ordered the State Director General of Police to take immediate action against singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and lyricist Karan Aujla.

She further clarified that, 'The action is that I have sent this to BOI (Bureau of Investigation) and DGP and they (Aujla and Honey Singh) should be summoned. I know that they are not in the country at this time, but still I should contact them and get an explanation. They should be summoned here. When they give an explanation, apologise, change the words, then we will see what will be the next step will be.'




Songs Under Scanner


The songs that are under scanner are Karan Aujla’s MF Gabru and his album P-Pop Culture. Similarly, the song Millionaire of Yo Yo Honey Singh from his comeback album Glory is found to be offensive and objectionable.
