To recreate the magic and fandom of the pulp movies, four 90s icons—J Neelam, Vinod Talwar, Dilip Gulati, and Kishan Shah—don the director's hat once more after 30 years. The unscripted Amazon Original series, a Vice Studios production, and a work by unconventional filmmaker Vasan Bala, will debut on January 20 in India and 240 other nations and territories.

With the release of its trailer, Prime Video, India's most popular entertainment platform, today announced the global premiere of its unscripted Amazon Original series, Cinema Marte Dum Tak. The fantastic trailer transports viewers to the 1990s and offers them a never-before-seen look into the fascinating, thriving, and unrecorded world of Hindi pulp films, which enjoyed a devoted and passionate fan base throughout the nation. The six-episode reality docuseries, a Vice Studios production and the brainchild of rebellious director Vasan Bala, offers a rare glimpse into the vibrant and autonomous Pulp Cinema ecosystem of the 1990s. 

Starting on January 20, Prime subscribers in India and more than 240 other countries and territories will have exclusive access to the documentaries on the service. Audiences may go behind the scenes with four extremely enthusiastic directors from that era—J Neelam, Vinod Talwar, Dilip Gulati, and Kishan Shah—as they prepare to make their final film with the same budgets and ideas as those from thirty years ago in Cinema Marte Dum Tak. Along with other actors, the documentary series includes Raza Murad, Mukesh Rishi, Harish Patel, and Rakhi Sawant, who share their perspectives on this underappreciated section of Indian cinema. In the final episode, actor Arjun Kapoor also makes a cameo as the host.
