Mini Banerjee Ghar Mein Hai (2019)

Digvijay and Shivani Sawant have found the home of their dreams. A sprawling 3 bedroom apartment, with Italian marble flooring, overlooking tall trees and lush greenery, a rarity in the concentrate jungle of the Maximum City. No wonder they can’t wait to sign the lease. But then their neighbour, Mr Kapoor from 401, strangely requests them to never use the 3rd bedroom and to keep it locked at all times. “ It belonged to Mini Banerjee, you see. A much loved 10 year old who died rather suddenly. But she continues to remain in her bedroom and if disturbed, resorts to child like mischief, which the whole building finds most adorable and funny.” Mr Kapoor reveals. Frightened, the Sawants want to leave, but their neighbour urges them to stay. “ Trust me, you are perfectly safe. Just don’t open that door.” He says cheerfully. Will the Sawants take Mr Kapoor’s advice and come to terms with Mini Banerjee haunting their 3rd bedroom ? Or is she not the harmless spirit made out to be, but a dark and sinister entity, harbouring a terrifying secret of her own? But in all of this, there is one fact with which both parties will agree. That in today’s day and age of crumbling economies and high costs of living, the perfect home is hard to find. And when found, how wise is it to simply let it go?
