Synopsis
It is said that marriages are made in heaven. And truly so. But this wedding is unique, extraordinary, and very entertaining . It is between Rasikraj (audience personified) and Rangbhoomi (the theatre personified). The auspicious ‘mahurat’ has arrived. Rasikraj is all dressed up and ready on stage. Behind the curtain, the bridegroom is also ready for the occasion. Well wishers have gathered to bless the couple. Traditional music, shehnai & rhythms have started playing. The curtain opens and the bride and bridegroom greet each other with garlands (varmala). Here onward begins "the story of ‘entertainment" story of Marathi Natak which began in 1842.
