Natsamrat (2018)

Ekdant Creations and Zee Marathi’s "Natsamrat," starring Mohan Joshi and Rohini Hattangadi, & Directed by Hrushikesh Joshi is an attempt to tell one of the most celebrated classics of Marathi Theatre, Written by one of the most celebrated writers of Marathi Theatre, Dyanapeeth Awardee V. V. Shirwadkar. It is a story of a rooted actor who has seen the peaks of glamour and appreciation, who even after retirement is unable to exit the mystic world of theatre and the memories attached to it. This play speaks about the never-ending struggle of being disowned by one's own children and love. As it is said, Vi Va’s depth is beyond one reading. It is Ekdant Creation's Chandrakant Lokare and Zee Marathi’s effort to reach new depths and preserve and responsibly continue the legacy. 'Natsamrat,' even after decades is as relatable and fresh as any other contemporary tragedy.
