Betiyaan Apni Yaa... Paraaya Dhan (2006)

Neelkanth An autocrat named Chanda Rana reprimands his six daughters and sees them as a burden. They have just entered his life since he is in need of a son. Since he has lost his zamindari, he thinks that only his son, the youngest of his children, will make him proud. It illustrates the continued preference for boy children over girl children in many areas. Girls are raised simply to get them married and regarded as liabilities. The main character and eldest daughter, Krishna, is a straightforward, upstanding young lady. She is the one who keeps her sisters in check and hopes that one day her father would come to see that his girls are not "Paraya Dhan," but rather
