Devi Adi Parashakti

The story opens with Shiva's inquiries about The Self and his discovery that Vishnu, Brahma, and he were all created by the Supreme Goddess Adi Parashakti. In a feast put on by Brahma's sons like Daksha and Narada to honour their father, Shiva shatters Brahma's conceit by cutting his fifth head. She emerges from the severed head and exposes Her true nature to the Tridevas. She then takes on three other personas, including Shakti, Shiva's beloved, and Saraswati, who marries Brahma, Lakshmi, and Vishnu, respectively, and lives with them in their separate abodes.
