Doree (2023)

Doree is a TV serial of the fictional-drama genre. It is a power-packed engaging drama which is established in a backdrop of a village located in the city of Varanasi which is highly dominated by various patriarchal and ancestral traditions. This serial mainly revolves around the life of a brave and intelligent girl who is just six-years old; whom tries to redefine the societal norms in a community wherein women aren’t provided with the equal rights which men enjoy. However, when she becomes an adult, she decides to work in a textile industry which is totally occupied by men. There she comes across Ganga Prasad who is very humble yet disabled weaver who works there and later on becomes her mentor and guide throughout the serial. This story takes a tragic turn when she comes to know that some of her own relatives are creating some sorry of conspiracies against her in order to degrade her will power and self-esteem. What will happen further? Can she successfully prove herself in spite of all the difficulties? This serial deeply visualises the emotions of self-belief, will power and determination throughout its several episodes.
