Intezaar (1989)

A mother awaits the return of her son, a tongawala dreams of purchasing an auto-rickshaw, a young man from Ladakh wishes to return to the mountains, and the other characters wish for various things in life. The story begins with an elderly, strict station master (Rajendra Gupta plays this role). He desired to be transferred to a quiet location where his daughter could feel at ease. She had attempted suicide and needed time to recover. The people of Kamalpura are filled with wonder. They can't think of a good reason for someone to leave a big city like Bombay and move to a small village like Kamalpura. The rest of the serial follows the lives of these locals and the newcomer.
