Piya Basanti Re (2014)

Piya Basanti Re is a serial of the drama genre. This serial’s story revolves around the journey of a simple and innocent girl named Piya who hails from a lower-middle class family and works as maid in the prestigious and luxurious Shah family where her mother was formerly working and as currently her mother finds it difficult to work because of various circumstances and as Piya becomes an adult, she decides to look after her family and then she embarks upon a new journey in her life wherein she starts to work along with looking after her studies as she has currently completed her schooling and now goes to college. Her family consists of her mother Geeta and herself as Geeta’s husband and her father unfortunately died while bravely fighting with the soldiers. Further, she creates various friends in the college which are namely Kabir, Aditya, Akshay and Akshay in which Kabir is the beloved son of Mahesh Shah and Niti Shah in which Mahesh is the eldest son of her mother named Baa who is the head of the family, while Aditi and Akshay are beloved children of Jatin and Savita who is the beloved sister of Mahesh and Ayesha’s mother Ganga who had hired Geeta to work as a maid for their family. Although Ganga doesn’t live a rich life like her other family members,still her daughter Ayesha pretends herself to be living a luxurious life in order to match the financial status and never reveals her relationship with Ganga. Later, the story takes an unexpected and traffic turn wherein Piya’s mother meets with an massive injury which resists her to work that ultimately leads to a financial crisis in the family. What will happen further? Can Piya look after the household as well as her beloved mother? This serial’s story creatively portrays the unconditional relationship of a daughter with her beloved mother amidst the rigid situations which challenge her will power, self-esteem and determination.
