Shamshaan Champa (2024)

Shamshaan Champa is a paranormal thriller genre based series set in a mysterious village where ancient folklore and dark secrets both intertwine together. The series follows the life of Champa, a young,enthusiastic and innocent girl who becomes the victim of deep-rooted superstitions and fear and gets accused by the villagers of being a witch, she is brutally burned alive under the ominous Kaal Vruksh (The Tree of Death) which is the name of a place enclosed in dark mythologies. According to the local villagers, any person who dies under the Kaal Vruksh is condemned to rise again as an evil witch, filled with hatred and vengeance.However, her story does not end in tragedy. In spite of the horrifying circumstances of her death, her soul does not surrender to the curse. Instead, she disobeys her fate and eventually gets a rebirth as a good witch, a powerful, yet kindhearted spirit. Dissimilar to the evil witches which the villagers highly fear, she uses her profound abilities to protect the people who once condemned her. With her surreal powers, she eventually becomes a force for good by working secretly to help the villagers in the times of crisis, removing curses, and guiding the lost souls.As a good witch, she operates her deeds from the shadows by appearing only when somebody is in a burden or difficulty, her presence is signified by the floral scent of Champa flowers and a marvellous glow around the Kaal Vruksh. Over a period of time, she begins to evolve a complicated relationship with the local villagers as some still look upon her as an evil and dangerous witch, while some start to believe in her healing powers and try to safeguard her secrets.
