Tara from Satara (2019)

Tara and Radhika are sisters living a middle class lifestyle. Their father Sachin used to aspire to get into Bollywood but his repeated attempts failed and he started hating Bollywood. Sachin now runs a classical dance academy. Radhika learns classical dance from her father however Tara loves Bollywood music and dance. Due to the latter’s love and interest in dance, her academics suffer and this angers her father. Due to her bad grades and father’s dislike she gives up dancing. However when she hears of an opportunity to participate in a dance competition ‘Dancer No.1’ she grabs it. She gets selected and gets a yellow card, but her father hates Bollywood so Radhika blames it on herself. Sachin eventually lets Radhika participate but she is only allowed to do classical dance. Tara and her entire family joins them to travel to Mumbai for the competition. Her parents however stay back. Soon Radhika dances the classical style on stage but seeing her father in the audience freezes and gets eliminated. Tara meanwhile participates as the wild entry and to everyone’s surprise wins the competition. She then praises her dad and his work thus bringing back his lost glory. The show is created by Ranjeet Thakur and Hemant Ruprell. The star cast includes Roshni Walia, Upendra Limaye, Urvashi Pardeshi, Sheezan Mohd and Ashwini Koul.
