Comicstaan (2018)

Comicstaan is the selection of one of the best stand-up comedians across India. There are 7 rounds in this competition where after auditioning hundreds of participants the top 10 are selected. These participants are asked to perform comedy in different genres each that include Anecdote, sketch, topical, improvisation, observational, comedy of terrors and alternative comedy. The judges guide and mentor the contestants before each round to prepare them. Only one stand-up comedian takes home the winning title. The judges of the show included Sapna Varma, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Sapan Verma, Kaneez Surka, Kanan Gill, Tanmay Bhat, Kenny Sebastian, and Naveen Richard. The series is directed by Khuzema Haveliwala and produced by Ajay Nair, Dhruv Sheth, Vikram Singh and Kreeti Gogia. The show is presented by Abish Mathew and Urooj Ashwaq.
