Jazz City (2026)

Jazz City is a very exciting Bengali thriller series that is going to be released on Sony LIV. The four-part series is the work of the director Soumik Sen, who is known for his ability to mix music and drama, and is being made through the combined efforts of Studio 9 and StudioNext. The strong cast, including Arifin Shuvoo and Sauraseni Maitra, who are very good at acting, is taking us back to 1971 when the story is set. The plot takes place in Kolkata during the very difficult period of the Bangladesh Liberation War. A conman who tries to hide his past is the main character, but soon he gets caught up in a world full of power struggles and lies. Music of the city in the form of the smoky and lively jazz clubs serves as the most important setting, where artists, revolutionaries, and spies come together. The main idea of the film is that it shows especially how music, revolution, and the hardest moral choices are interlinked by people living through historical conflicts. Jazz City is going to be a mini-series with 10 episodes that will be released on Sony LIV on February 6, 2026, the first show being a historical thriller with a very good atmosphere and fast pace. The viewer should get ready to immerse himself in a narrative where the freedom war is undoubtedly visible, betrayal is the order of the day, and the colourful and rebellious sound of jazz is the irony of a revolution.
