Salakaar (2025)

Salakaar is one of the upcoming web series of the thriller-drama genre. The storyline of Salakaar exists in two timelines; in 1978, we follow RAW agent Adhir Dayal (Naveen Kasturia) in a covert mission to penetrate into Pakistan's nuclear program, specifically, the secret nuclear site in Kahuta, while being challenged by General Zia-ul-Haq (Mukesh Rishi), who is hell-bent on advancing Pakistan's nuclear agenda. In the 2025 timeline, Mariam (Mouni Roy) discovers that the consequences of this past mission are back, endangering India's safety yet again, and that she must stop the revival of Pakistan's nuclear program that includes a tense and dangerous confrontation with Colonel Ashfaq Ullah (Surya Sharma), who is the grandson of General Zia-ul-Haq. Salakaar brings certain aspects regarding national security, espionage, and the effects of covert operations to the forefront of the story. The premise is clever, and the series received mixed reviews, with positive remarks about the performances but criticisms directed at the writing and execution.
