The popular Indian romantic comedy-drama series, The Royals, has been confirmed for a second season by Netflix India. This drama series will once again have the leading cast Ishaan Khatter (presenting Prince Aviraaj) and Bhumi Pednekar (portraying Sophia) and others like Sakshi Tanwar and Zeenat Aman. The series, which is a Netflix original, is said to deal with the drama of "old money mixing with new blood".
The second season starts with the dramatic finale of season one: the shocking fact that Aviraaj is not the legitimate heir and the royal family's extreme financial crisis. The new plot revolves around the emotional consequences of these secrets, which will create a distance between Aviraaj and Sophia, forcing the couple to go through public disgrace. The main ideas of the story are cheating, losing power, and love under pressure.
Although the official date for the release of the series is still not fixed, it is expected that the show will be available on Netflix around the middle to the end of 2026. The viewers will have to get ready for higher stakes, more deeply ingrained family secrets, and intense confrontations as the lead characters look for new personas apart from their tarnished reputations.
