Biography

Hina Khan has primarily worked in Hindi and Punjabi films and in television. She is noted for her versatility across genre. Having acted in family dramas and reality shows to psychological thrillers, she is one of the highest paid television actresses in India. She is one of the highest paid actresses on television and is a recipient of several accolades which include the ITA Awards and three Telly Awards, Seven Gold Awards.

Hina Khan is recognized for portraying Akshara Maheshwari Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai between the years 2009 and 2016. Khan emerged as a runner up in the eight and the eleventh seasons of the Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi reality shows and in Bigg Boss of 2017 and 2018. She also played the much critically acclaimed role in the romantic television series, Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 from 2018 to 2019, which earned her the Gold Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role.

Hina had auditioned for Sony TV’s singing reality show Indian Idol where she managed to be on top 30. After eight years she quit the show in November 2016 to pursue in her other projects. Her performance over the years has earned her a lot of applauds and accolades with positive critic reviews. She has won multiple awards.

Hina Khan joined the Colors TV’s Fear Factor :Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 as a contestants and won the place as the 1st runner up. In the same year she also participated in the reality show on television, Big Boss 11 as a celebrity contestant. She emerged as the first runner up.

She wrapped up her shooting with Sonu Thukral for a Punjabi Music Video in 2018. She had signed a digital debut with Ankoosh Bhatt’s short film Smart Phone, opposite Kunal Roy Kapur. She got her popularity from her role as Komolika an antagonist in Kasautii Zindagii Kay which which she left in 2019 April She signed a film opposite veteran actress Farida Jalal for a film called Lines directed by Hussain Khan and written by Rahat Kazmi and Shakti Singh.

Her milestone in her career between 2019 and present are Soulmate a short film opposite actor Vivan Bhatena. A short film Wish List opposite Jitendra rai. She also was a part of the Indo-Hollywood movie called The Country of the Blind as Gosha. She signed a psychological crime drama digital series called Damaged 2.

In 2020 January she started in the ZEE 5 Horror film opposite Kushal Tandon where she played the lead role. She also starred in the fifth season of Ekta Kapoor’s Nagin along with Dheeraj Dhoothpar and Mohit Malhotra.

Hina Khan made her Bollywood entry into films with the film Hacked directed by Vikra Bhatt alongside Sid Makkar. She returned to Bigg Boss in 2020as the toofani senior along with Gauahar Khan and Sidharth Shukla for the first two weeks.

In May 2021, Hina appeared in a music video song for T.Series, Pathar Wargi alongside Tanmay Singh. In the same year she also appeared in her next song, Baarish Ban Jana along with Shaheer Sheikh which was shot in Kashmir. The son was sung by Stebin Ben and Payal Dev. She also acted in the music video Main Bhi Bharbaad which was released alongside Angad Bedi and sung by Yasser Desai. She was a part of the web series titled Seven On where in she plays the role of a cop. In 2024 she made her debut in Pollywood in Shinda Shinda No Papa on Chaupal opposite Gippy Grewal. From 2025 Hina participated in Colors Television Reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga as a contestant along with her husband Rocky.

Career & Achievements

Hina Khan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree which she completed in 2009 from CCA School of Management in Gurgaon. She completed her early schooling and higher education in management studies and eventually she started her career in films. She had initially pursued interest in a career in journalism or become an air hostess but it was entertainment that Hina Khan decided on after she started her career in popular television shows.
