Biography

Mamta Verma known for her versatility and her performances across Bollywood films and televisions. She is also a part of lot of Instagram reels and with her in the entertainment industry for over a decade by steadily making her presence felt, she is particularly recognized for her role in a relatable maternal figure or in supporting characters in both high-stake drama and lighthearted comedies. 

Mamta first appeared in the film Love Express in 2011. She played the character of Prommy. Her filmography includes the documentary called Bhopali released in 2011. It had won critical acclaim for it was based on the Bhopal gas tragedy survivors.


Mamta in recent years had found significant success in the OTT streaming space on the television.


She had appeared in Ludo in 2020 by Anurag Basu. A dark comedy anthology and she played the role of Mini’s mother, a role in which she could showcase her ability to blend into the ensemble cast in the high-profile productions.


In Mili released in 2022, she played the role of the protagonist Janhvi Kapoor’s mother. Jahnvi Kapoor was Mili in the film. A gripping film that further cemented her reputation as a reliable character actress.


Mamta Verma is also widely recognized in television and OTT series. Her popular shows were Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2 where she plays the role of Kavita Malhotra and in Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan in 2022 as Prema Srivastav. She has also appeared in the series Home Shanti in Disney+Hotstar series, and in Big Girls Don’t Cry in 2024 on Prime Video.


Between 2009 and 2013, one of her most enduring television roles that Mamta Verma essayed was of Bindumati in the hit SAB Tv sitcom called Lapataganj which earned her a dedicated Hindi speaking audience.


Mamta Verma is known for her naturalistic acting style whether she plays the role of a mother or a character in a satirical comedy, she has brought her authenticity in her roles that allows her to be resonated with the family audience. Some of her films that spanned from Baa Baaa Black Sheep released in 2018 to the 2025 series called Mannat: Harr Khushi Paane Ki which reflected on her adaptability and her ever evolving longevity in the entertainment industry.


She often stays away from the limelight of major tabloids but she has consistently tried to improvise her landscape in the entertainment sector as one of the respected actors who has been consistently a part of multiple mediums.
