Shaheer Sheikh was born in Jammu and Kashmir, in Doda District. He completed his schooling form Hari Singh Higher Secondary School in Jammu. He graduated in Bachelor of Law(LLB) from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune.
Shaheer Sheikh was chosen as the First Indian Torch Bearer for the 18th Asian Games by the Indonesian Government in the year 2018 on the 10th August.
Shaheer started his career as a model and went on to become an actor . He made his television debut with the show Kya Mast Hai Life. He was also a part of the serial Jhansi Ki Rani wherein he played the role of Nana Sahib, the brother of Rani of Jhansi.
He was best remembered for his role as Dev Dixit in ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise bhi’, and Anant Bajpai in ‘Nayya, Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal’.
Sheikh worked in Disney Channel’s show called the Best of Luck Nikki wherein he played the role of Ritesh.
Sheikh owns an event management company.
In 2012, Shaheer appeared in telefilm Honeymoon which was telecasted in Star Plus and in Teri Meri Love Stories. In this series he plays the role of Nityanand Chaturvedi who is in love with his boss’s daughter.
He also played the role of Rajvansh in ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ and a Warrior Arjun in the Mythological series, ‘Mahabharat’ in 2013 under the Swastik Productions. For his performance as Arjuna he received lot of appreciation and the show episodes ended in 2014 August. Mahabharat had got very popular in Indonesia and established him as a big star in that country. After which he got many opportunities to do various projects in Indonesia.
He was the host for the Indonesian reality television ‘Panah Asmara Arjuna’ and compered a show called ‘The New Eat Bulaga’, in Indonesia along with his co-stars of ‘Mahabharat’.
In 2015 he co-hosted a television talent show called the ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ along with Mark Nelson. He also landed himself a role in a romantic comedy film Turis Romantis. He had played a role of a handsome photographer from India who befriends a Nabil, a tourist guide in Yogyakarta.
In 2016, Shaheer had returned to join the television with the critically acclaimed television show ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi ‘and looked handsome in the role of the young and successful business tycoon. After that he did several guest appearances in Indonesian television series. In 2017 he featured in an Indonesian films ‘Majpa’ and ‘Datu Museng’, an action based love story.
In 2018 Shaheer portrayed in color’s Television in the serial ‘Dastaan-E-Mohabbat’ and had paired opposite Sonarika Bhodaria, followed by his appearance in Star Plus’s ‘ Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ and then a spin-off in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata’ opposite Rhea Sharma.
Sheikh is currently planning to produce web series and acting in them.
