Synopsis of Shah Rukh Khan's Career  The chocolate face featured young Shahrukh Khan made it to the Numero Uno position in the Bollywood with his unconventional looks and his superb acting.   Not only is Shahrukh Khan a brilliant actor, but also an all-rounder in sports captaining football, hockey and cricket teams all at the same time. After sustaining a football injury, he started contemplating on a career in acting. Graduated with honours in Economics from Hansraj College,  Shah Rukh completed masters in mass communications from Jamiya Miliya Islamia. Khan later pursued theatre under the reputed Mr. Barry John whom he gives his credit for recognizing the actor inside him and his talent . It is believed he went on to try his stint in the television small screen as well as the Indian Cinema to fulfill his mother's dream of seeing her son as one of the finest and Great Actor.   He attained the name of the King Khan when he began his journey by landing himself with the lead role of a commando in 1988 drama series Fauji (1988). He was much applauded for his work and soon became the heartthrob of teenage girls bagging roles in other serials as Circus (1989) and 'Dil Dariya', the former being delayed due to various reasons. He also had a minor role in a made for television film called In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones (1989).   His big screen debut came in the form of Deewana (1992) where he acted alongside the then top actress of Bollywood Divya Bharti and won the prestigious Filmfare award for Best Debut Actor Male. He had also starred earlier in a small role in 'Dil Aashna Hai'. This was followed by another hit in the form of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992).   Khan made the unique choice against all advice to opt for negative roles and played obsessive, somewhat psychotic characters in Darr (1993) and Baazigar (1993). To everyone's surprise the films were massive hits and Shahrukh earned his first Best Actor award and was also nominated in the villainous role category.   His acting was applauded by all in the film industry and carved a niche for future King. The same year he bagged the Critics Award for best performance in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994), a film he often recalls as amongst his favourites.   A few more films which he did were average or less and did not reach the Box Office.   but a series of hits followed to what would be remembered as one of Khan's most memorable performances; a film which is India's biggest blockbuster and truly complete with the very best of drama, comedy, romance, thrills and a bit of action as well. The epic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) was released on 20th October 1995 and as of 2011 still plays in a Mumbai theatre, thus being the longest running film in the history.   Coincidentally Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise was the initial choice as the main lead but the role went to Shahrukh who is now nicknamed 'Tom Cruise of India'.   Khan has come a long way since then with a string of hits under his belt which include some of Bollywood's biggest in both national and international markets namely Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001) , Devdas (2002), Swades(2004), Chak de! India (2007), Om Shanti Om (2007), My Name Is Khan (2010), Ra.One(2011) , Don 2 (2011), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)and the highest grossing Chennai Express (2013) thus making him the undisputed megastar of India with a record number of Best Actor trophies and numerous Power awards.    
   
Television Hosting His fame does not end here as the most versatile actor of Indian Cinema and his persona fetched him to his credit the World's Biggest Movie Star and he was one of the names in the 50 most powerful people by Newsweek.    This has led him to being one of the best Television hosts for programmes, game shows, and award functions with his keen sense of humour that keeps his audience captivated grasping for more,  he also hosted the India's version on the same bench with Mr. Amitabh Bachhan for ' Kaun Banega Crorepati' on the same lines of ' Who wants to be a Millionaire."   In addition to his early television serial appearances, Khan has hosted numerous televised awards shows, including the Filmfare, Zee Cine and Screen awards in 2007 . Shahrukh khan also hosted  Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, the Indian version of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

Won 207 of them Padmashree in 2005  India's fourth highest civilian award from the Government of India First Bollywood personality to be honored with the prestigious Chubb fellowship at Yale University.   Shahrukh Khan has received 14 Filmfare Awards from 30 nominations and special awards which included eight for Best Actor; He is compared to the category with Dilip Kumar. Khan has won the Filmfare Best Actor award  Baazigar (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai(1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Devdas (2002), Swades (2004), Chak De! India (2007) and My Name Is Khan (2010). Many a time, he has garnered as many as three of the five total Filmfare Best Actor nominations. Although he has never won a National Film Award, He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005. The Government of France has awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2007)  and its highest civilian honour, the Légion d'honneur (2014).        
   
  As of 2015,  Shahrukh Khan is a Co-Chairman of the motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier league Cricket Team of Kolkata Knight Riders.    Shahrukh Khan performed alongside Sunidhi Chauhan and Shriya Saran at the opening ceremony of the 2011 season, where they danced to Tamil songs.   He appeared again in 2013 alongside Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Pitbull.( Armando Christian Pérez,)    In May 2012, the Mumbai Cricket Association banned him from the Wankhede Stadium for five years for arguing with security guards and officials after a match between KKR and The Mumbai Indians.  Khan , a Gentleman is said to have later apologized to his fans after his team won the final match   Shahrukh Khan has provided health care and disaster relief and was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide Con Marni Award in 2011 for his support of children's education. In 1997, where in he performed with Asha Bhosle's Moments in Time Concert in Malaysia and the following year with Karisma Kapoor. He was also a part of the Awesome Foursome World Tour across the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States along with Juhi Chawla, Akshay Kumar,and Kajol In 2002, Shahrukh Khan featured with Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta and Aishwarya Rai in the Show from India with Love at the Machester's Old Trafford and London's Hyde Park. The event was attended by 100 thousand people. Khan also performed with Rani Mukherjei, Arjun Rampal and Ishaa Koppikar in 2010 concert at the Army Stadium at Dhaka in Bangla Desh. The following year, He joined Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the Friendship Concert celebrating the 150 years of India-South Africa Friendship in Durban in South Africa. Shahrukh Khan started an association with the "Temptations" series of concert tours by singing, dancing, and performing skits alongside Arjun Rampal, Priyanka Chopra, and other Bollywood stars in Temptations 2004, a stage show that toured 22 venues across the world.
