Besharam which means shameless!
In the year 1978,
on April 28th his film Besharam was released. The film was produced
and directed by famous comedy actor Deven Verma. The music for this film was
composed by Kalyanji Anandji. The main artists in this film were Amitabh
Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Amjad Khan, Nirupa Roy, A. K Hangal, Iftekar and
Deven Verma.
The film is about Digvijay Singh
played by Amjad Khan who falsely implicates a school teacher Ramchandra essayed
by A. K. Hangal due to which he commits suicide. This incident compels his son Ram Kumar
(Amitabh Bachchan) to find the truth about his father’s death. He sets out to
take revenge and finds himself in a dangerous criminal world.
This film of 1974
did not do well at the box office and was a flop film but Amitabh Bachchan had
signed this film before he became a star. When the film released he was already
a superstar therefore his fans and audience watched the film in the theatres.
The film had Sharmila Tagore as his leading lady. They had both acted earlier
in the film Faraar.
Besharam is one
of the films by Amitabh Bachchan which is not mentioned and many people haven’t
even heard of this film.
