Blinded By Betrayal Fueled By Fury: Amitabh Bachchan's Explosive Journey Of Justice In 'Nastik' 1983

Nastik released in 1983
is another action-drama film of Amitabh Bachchan produced by Vinod Doshi and is
directed by Pramod Chakravorty. Starring in the film besides Amitabh Bachchan
are Hema Malini, Pran, Deven Verma, Sarika, Amjad Khan, Aruna Irani and
yesteryear actors Nalini Jaywant and Bhagwan Dada. Starring in the film are
also Lalita Pawar, Rita Bhaduri, Bob Christo and Tom Alter. The sound for
this film was composed by Kalyanji Anandji, and the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi.
The pivotal roles played
by Amitabh Bachchan with Hema Malini was the last in this film and later they
both were seen once again after 20 years for the film Baghban in 2003.
Shankar, essayed by
Amitabh Bachchan is the son of the village priest and after the horrendous
murder of his father by Tiger and see his only sister and mother being torched
in their own home, Shankar decides to give them justice himself. He doesn’t
kill Tiger in his palatial house but blinds him. And turns an atheist. He flees
from the village and restarts a fresh life in the city by becoming a
thief.
In the city he robs
people with the help of Balbir essayed by Pran and Gauri essayed by Hema
Malini. Once when in an attempt to hide from the cops he comes across his
mother and sister whom he had believed to be dead. He reunites with his lost
family. He decides to kill Tiger once
for all and end the agony he had been through.
The role of an angry young man is clearly shown in this film when he pursues his revenge and avenging the death of his father.
