Clash In Friends Because Of Girl A Typical Bollywood Story Of Dostana
Today let us talk about another film that was one of the most popular films in the series of Amitabh Bachchan’s filmy journey. The multi star cast film Dostana an action drama film written by Salim Javed and is produced by Yash Johar, directed by Raj Khosla, stars Shatrughan Sinha along with Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal role with Zeenat Aman in the love triangle story. The other star casts include Amrish Puri, Prem Chopra, Helen and Pran in supporting roles.
The film was a huge hit at the box office and became one of the highest grossing films in the year 1980. The film was remade in south regional languages. The story is about two best friends Vijay and Ravi, essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha respectively. Vijay is a police officer, Ravi is a lawyer. While Vijay catches the criminals and brings them to the law, Ravi with his expertise as a lawyer releases these criminals as he is employed by Daaga ( Prem Chopra). Once both the friends meet Sheetal essayed by the pretty Zeenat Aman but both meet her at different locations and unknowingly both fall in love with her and do not reveal to each other.
While Vijay is more vocal about his emotions that Sheetal has perceived, Ravi has silently fallen in love with her and its one sided as Sheetal is not aware of Ravi’s feelings for her. Ravi and Vijay are inseparable best friends willing to do anything for each other. Ravi one day expresses that he is in love with Sheetal which devastates Vijay but he loves his friend and decides to step back to let them come together. Ravi is not aware that Vijay and Sheetal are in love with each other. And for the first time Ravi and Vijay become rivals. Ravi starts collaborating with Dagga to make Vijay’s life miserable by threatening with consequences of some murder and crime that he was not a part of . Vijay is now convicted of murder charges and that;s when Ravi one of the best lawyers comes to his rescue but with a condition that he should let Sheetal sleep with him one night. On the night when Sheetal to save Vijay’s life agrees to sleep with Ravi, Ravi happens to read a letter written by Vijay to Sheetal that rekindles his love, admiration and friendship for Vijay.
He realizes he was at fault and wants to make up for it but in the mean time Dagga captures them both and while Vijay comes to his rescue. Dagga is killed in the encounter and the film ends there.
