Even Gorgeous Actresses Like Mahima Chaudhry Went Into Oblivion – Part – 6

Like some the most handsome heroes like Jugal Hansraj and Chandrachur Singh, many gorgeous and stunningly beautiful actresses turned out just a one-film wonder!

Pakistani beauty Salma Agha, with her bewitching blue eyes and her soulful voice, took over the hearts of Indian movie lovers in B.R.Chopra‘s super hit movie Nikaah (1982). The movie was an instant hit and even fetched Salma Agha the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback singer for the song ‘Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Mein Beh Gaye…’  The movie also fetched her Filmfare Nomination as Best Actress. Later she was flooded with many films but like her song ‘Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Mein Beh Gaye… her Armaan ( Wish) went for a toss as all her future films were a flop!

A break by a heavyweight filmmaker and Show Man of Bollywood, Subhash Ghai is a dream debut for any actress. On top of it if the debut is opposite a big superstar like Shah Rukh Khan then there is no looking back for the debutant actress. The actress who got everything on a plate was Mahima Chaudhry! The beautiful and charming Miss India made her stunning debut with the super hit movie Pardes (1997). The movie was not only hit but to add a cherry on the cake she even won the prestigious Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards award as ‘Best Debut Award’ but despite such high profile acclaim, her career could not take her to the zenith of success.

Another attractive and stunningly beautiful actress who got a tailor-made debut was Gracy Singh, the heroine opposite Aamir Khan in the Oscar-Nominated super hit movie Lagaan. The movie fetched her Zee Cine’s Best Female Debut Award (2002) and the prestigious IIFA Award for Best Debut (2002). She was also nominated for Filmfare Best Debut Award. Surprisingly, after Lagaan, she got yet another blockbuster film Munnabhai M.B.B.S.(2003) opposite Sanjay Dutt but lady luck was probably not on her side hence despite such super hit movies Gracy Singh too got lost into oblivion.

Tanishaa Mukerji, daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja and Kajol‘s sister, made her debut with Yash Raj films Neal n Nikki (2005). Despite showing skin and doing daring bold scenes the film was a huge flop. Later she did get few more films like Amitabh Bachchan‘s Sarkar but wasn’t able to make her mark quite like her elder sister Kajol.

Hema Malini and Dharmendra‘s daughter Esha Deol made her debut with a bang Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002. However, the film boomed and so did her career.
