Bollywood stars put in their all for a film. Even before the filming starts, they sometimes drown themselves into the role days or even months in advance in preparation. Certain films however require stars to look a certain way and we have seen a trend in the last couple of years, where actors will go to almost any length to sink their teeth into a good role. Here are some actors whose physical transformation left us all in awe of them and is definitely praiseworthy!
Randeep Hooda has established himself as a fine actor in Bollywood with films like Highway and Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai, among others. The actor however landed the part in the Sarbjit biopic, where he had to loose 18 kgs of weight in 28 days. Apparently the actor walked into the set on the first day and no one recognized him!

Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood had two extreme situations in his two different movies. For the movie Ghajini, the actor was required to achieve a fit and chiseled body for which he went through an intense 13 month training. On the other hand in the film Dangal, he had to put on 30 Kgs, where he ate everything from fried chicken to cheeseburgers to attain a bulky body. The result of course is visible in the movies for all to see. Hats off to his dedication!
Model Bhumi Pednekar made her Bollywood debut in an unbelievable role in the film Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The actress had to gain 30 kgs of weight to fit the role of Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife in the film. People initially thought that is how Bhumi actually looked, but she shocked us all by loosing all the weight for her next film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
The talented actor Rajkummar Rao has proved his versatility with films like Stree, Kai PO Che, Aligarh, among others. The actor took his performance to another level when he had to shed a large amount of weight for his film Trapped, where his character accidentally gets locked in his own house without food, water or electricity.
The singer, actor, director, producer Farhan Akhtar had to go through a terrific transformation for his film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, where he had to look lean and fit to play the role of a sports athlete. The actor took 13 months to get a chiseled body where he used to work out for 5-6 hours in a day to achieve the look.
