Producer Dinesh Vijan is back with a second part of Hindi Medium franchise, titled ANGREZI MEDIUM. The film was awaited primarily for Irrfan Khan’s comeback after he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor. The film starts with Champak’s (Irrfan) dedication towards his sweet shop and his daughter Taarika (Radhika). The first half has Ghasiteram (Deepak) and Champak’s scenes which will be a light humor for everyone the first half shows Champak and Taarika’s special bond. Taarika is a student who is not so brilliant in studies and yet manages to score 85 percentages just to avail the scholarship from the school that will take her to London. Champak goes every way possible to get her to London, story revolves around that.
The story is highly predictable, performances are average and the message given loos good on paper but isn’t executed properly. The end might leave you teary eyed. Talking of performances, Irrfan Khan delivers a top-notch performance. He seems completely in form and ensures that he makes audiences laugh and moist eyed. Deepak Dobriyal too is superb and his chemistry with Irrfan saves the film to a huge extent.
Radhika Madan has a fine screen presence and gives a fine performance. Few songs fail to please you. In short, Irrfan Khan–Deepak Dobariyal’s chemistry is the backbone of a bleak story, but will grab footfalls in the theatre due to less competition and also for Irrfan.
