Sooraj Pancholi

Sooraj Pancholi had started his film career by becoming an assistant director to filmmakers like Kabir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bansali for their films Ek Tha Tiger and Guzaaarish.

 

 He made his film debut as an actor in Salman Khan’s home production in the year 2015 with the film ‘Hero’ which was a remake of the film Hero in 1983 by Subash Ghai.  The film was directed by Nikhil Advani and co-written by Umesh Bist.  Sooraj’s role is of a gangster from Mumbai who falls in love with the daughter of the city’s Police Chief. The story revolved around him and how he changes his life from being a gangster to a more respectful job in fitness center. In the film he was star cast opposite debutant Athiya Shetty. The film however failed at the box office but his perfectly shaped physic and his looks was noticed.  He there after made headlines romancing the beautiful actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the single hit ‘ GF’.    He got a lot of appreciation and was highly acclaimed for his dancing skills in this single, in the song that was choreographed by veteran choreographer Remo D’Souza.

 

His career came to a halt and almost ended when actress Jiah Khan committed suicide and in her suicide note stated that it was Sooraj Pancholi for the reason behind her suicide.   

 

Sooraj signed the film Satellite Shankar which was released all over India with the tag line that said, ‘Not all Heroes go to the Battlefield’.  The film was directed by Irfan Kamal and was jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishna Kumar and Ashwin Varde.

 

Sooraj Pancholi’s latest film to be ready for release is with actress Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle Kaif, launched by superstar Salman Khan for the film ‘Time to Dance’  .  Remo D’Souza is said to be producing the film and also choreographing for the dance film. The film is expected to go on floors from April this year and in the meantime Sooraj and Isabelle are finalizing on their dance steps with the training to be perfect.  While Sooraj is a street dancer in the film who is self-trained, Isabelle’s role is that of a Latin Ballroom Dancer. Time to Dance is going to be an interesting film showcasing all forms of dance ranging from Waltz to Tango, Viennese, Samba, Waltz, Paso, Rumba, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, and Jive.

Sooraj and Athiya Shetty are also getting trained for a film production and if all goes well Sooraj will be back on the track very soon with new films and may get his success back.
