Manushi Chhillar

medical degree for MBBS at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat.Manushi Chhillar is fluent in Hindi and English, apart from her mother tongue Haryanvi. She is also a trained Kuchipudi dancer and has acquired training under Raja and Radha Reddy.She then ventured into pageantry with Fashion Big Bazaar sponsored Campus Princess 2016 where she was crowned as one of the finalists for All India Institute of Medical Sciences. It was conducted by Miss India Organizations. Thereafter she represented her state of Haryana at the Femina Miss India in 2017 pageant and won the title of Femina Miss India World 2017 and then went on to become the sixth Indian to be crowned Miss World after 17 years.During the competition she was also crowned for Miss Photogenic. In her top 15 semifinalists, she was asked a question by Karan Johar, ‘The government is considering to ban surrogacy in India. What is your opinion regarding this?   Her answer was, I feel everyone in the world should have a right to be a parent, so instead of banning surrogacy in India, the government should focus on ensuring that there are no exploitations in surrogacy.She went on to win the contest’s main title, Femina Miss India World 2017 in the finale event hosted at the Yash Raj Film Studios on June 25th 2017. She earned the rights to contest and represent India at Miss World 2017. She was the winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge from Group Nine co-winner of the Beauty with a purpose competition. She is the fourth Beauty with a Purpose winner from India at the Miss World and the first woman to win Miss World and Beauty with a Purpose jointly. She became a part of the Purpose Project titled Project Shakti. The campaign’s goal is to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene. She visited about 20 villages across for the project where by 5000 women were treated.After winning Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar travelled extensively around the globe to advocate ‘Beauty with Purpose’ tour for women’s health and menstrual hygiene. The countries and territories she visited during her reign included, China, British Virgin Island, Indonesia, United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, South Africa, Sri Lanka and France. She returned to her home country India and visited multiple cities to further expand her humanitarian projects.Her core philosophy is travel as it’s her ultimate teacher. Her global journey had taken off at the age of 17 during a solo cultural exchange to Japan. After winning the title of Miss World 2017 she became the first title holder who travelled nearly every continent. She loves curating itineraries focusing it mainly on local history, art and architecture. Free Independent Traveler FIT self-proclaimed she is known for her notable travel spanning from exploring the ruins, the coast lines of Oman and Sri Lanka and relaxing in Maldives and her romantic walks in Paris.Besides her project, ‘Beauty with Purpose’ tour, Manushi endorsed critical health causes by partnering with UNICEF for Youth empowerment and COVID 19 awareness campaigns.  Chhillar also served as a government ambassador for the Anemia Free Haryana campaign to combat the nutritional deficiencies among the women.
