Abhinetri (1970)

Abhinetri(Actress) is produced and directed by Subodh Mukherjee starring Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Nirupa Roy. The story is about an assistant scientist Shekhar (Shashi Kapoor) and Anjana (Hema Malini) an established stage performer who meet accidentally and fall in love with each other and get married. She gives up her profession to live in harmony. With time she realises that Shekhar gets busy with his work and has no time for her so she takes up her profession again but problems arise with arguments, fights etc due to which they decide to live separately. When Shekhar’s mother decides to come and be with them, they are forced to live together for her and in due course they compromise realise what is missing in their marriage and the film ends with a happy note.
