Ajooba (1991)

Ajooba (Miracle) is directed by Shashi Kapoor & Gennadi Vasilyev, produced by Shashi Kapoor, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Shammi Kapoor, Saeed Jaffrey, Amrish Puri. Released on the 12th of April 1991. It is an Indian Soviet Fantasy movie. Baharistan is an Afghan Kingdom ruled by a fair, just, kind Sultan Ali Rizwan (Shammi Kapoor) who has no children. The Wazir (Amrish Puri) wants to usurp the kingdom so orders his maids to strangle every child who is born to the Sultan. Finally, a son is born with some divine intervention, who becomes Ajooba (Amitabh Bachchan). The sultan is so happy, so celebrations go on in the kingdom. The court magician Ameer Baba (Saeed Jaffrey) returns from India, gifts a sword to the sultan, who in turn thrusts it into a pillar which can be removed only by a member of the royal family. This is overheard by the Wazir. Ameer. Baba is thrown into the dungeons. The sultan escapes with his wife and son. Lots of magical things happen during the film, when ajooba grows up, comes as a masked rider in black. Hassan (Rishi Kapoor) and Ajooba are good friends. They together drive off all the evils. Ali falls in love with Rukhsana (Dimple Kapadia) who happens to be the daughter of the magician Ameer baba. The film ends with a panorama of Demons, Animals. Finally, the truth is out and a happy ending.
