Amanush (1975)

Amanush is a drama film made in Hindi and Bengal in the year 1975. Directed and produced by Shakti Samantha. Starring in the film are Sharmila Tagore, Uttam Kumar , Utpal Dutt and Asit Sen. Madhusudan (Uttam Kumar) falls in love with a pretty girl Rekha (Sharmila Tagore), Sister of Dr. Anand and they plan to get married. However, Madhusudan is addicted to his vice of drinking which goes against him. A girl named Champa who confides to Rekha she is pregnant by Madhusudan.. Thus a heart broken Rekha confronts him. Before he could prove his innocence he is also implicated in a conspiracy resulting in his arrest for stealing his uncle’s money. While his uncle is dead his wicked employee Maheem Ghosal has taken over the entire business and the property. Circumstances has now changed Madhusudan who takes respite with drinking and also a changed man who is now feared and hated by one and all.
