Ravi lives a wealthy lifestyle with his mother. She wants her son to marry a girl of their stature and thus selects Seema who is also as rich and educated as them. Ravi however has already fallen in love with a poor orphan named Sharda. When his mother meets her, she out rightly rejects Sharda and asks her to stay out of his life. Ravi left with no other choice, leaves home and marries Sharda. Soon the latter is pregnant and Ravi’s mother accepts her son and his wife. Their happiness however doesn’t last long as Sharda has a horrible accident and suffers a miscarriage. His mother now devastated and furious makes Sharda leave their home and go away.
Ravi left with no other choice comes under pressure from his mother to marry the rice Seema. Soon the latter gives birth to a son named Vijay. Vijay is however brought up with all luxuries and gets into a lot of vices. He then gets in the path of Don Samrat who wants to now kill him. To save himself he hides in a ashram run by non other than Sharda. Under her guidance, Vijay changes for the better and falls in love with a girl named Ila who is brought up by Sharda. Seema is shattered to hear that her son has fallen for a poor girl and Sharda is still alive. Ultimately Sharda gets killed by Don Samrat and reunites Ravi with his family.
The film is directed and produced by Ramesh Behl. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Karan Shah, Hema Malini, Mandakini, Rekha, Satish Shah and Kader Khan.
