Following a fiercely contested election, Kerala's upright Chief Minister M.K.R. (Sukumaran) assumes leadership. A professional hitman (Captain Raju) is hired by enraged rivals to kill him within 15 days (the 15th day being August 15, Independence Day). A Crime Branch investigator named Perumal (Mammootty) gets involved in the investigation thanks to a tip-off. He discovers the would-be assassin to be a smart and determined man who is psychotically committed to providing his clients with the full worth of his services despite information of the impending assassination spreading. Except for a few incredibly odd passages, the script was well written and generally well-paced.
