Nima is happy in her married life when she suddenly loses him in an accident. Seeing Nima as a widow, her elder sister Sharda loses her consciousness and falls off the stairs. She is then admitted to the mental hospital. Later Nima remarries Sharda’s husband Balraj and take care of their son Sagar while having their own son Babbu later. Turns out that an inmate in the mental hospital attacks Sharda and hits her on the head and thus she regains her mental stability and remembesr her old life. When Nima hears this, she decides to make everything just like before and wears a widows attire. Sharda comes home and is happy to see her family again. But soon her son Sagar comes home and reveals the truth and Sharda becomes violent. Turns out she is only pretending to lose her sanity as she wants to exit from their life. The film is directed by Ramesh Talwar and produced by Ramesh Behl. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Shashi Kapoor, Raj Kiran, Raakhee, Rekha, Poonam Dhillon, Iftekhar and A K Hangal.
